급성 외이도염·외이도 뾰루지·외이도 습진·중이강 속에서 고름이 나는 만성 중이염 등을 치료하기 위해 항생제 귀 점적약제(점이제) 등을 외이도 속 또 중이강 속에 넣어 치료할 수 있다.
외이도 속 굳은 귀지를 제거하기 전 외도 속 귀지를 우선 부드럽게 하든지 녹히기 위해 세루메넥스(Cerumenex)제 귀 점적약제를 외이도 속에 넣을 수 있다.귀지 참조.
말을 잘 알아들을 수 있는 연령층 아이의 귀지를 꺼낼 때나 다른 이유로 귓구멍 속에 귀 점적약제를 넣어야 할 때는 귀 점적 약제를 넣기 전 귀 점적 약제를 넣는 이유와 넣을 때 생길 수 있는 것들-예를 들면, 차거나 뜨겁거나 귀가 잠시 동안 조금 멍멍하거나 막힐 수 있거나 또는 잠시 동안 잘 들을 수 없다는 것을 간단히 설명해야 한다.
그 다음, 무릎 위나 침대 위에 눕힌 후 귀 점적 약제를 넣을 귀가 위로 향하게 환아의 머리를 한쪽으로 돌린다(사진 참조).
처방에 따라 귀 점적 약제를 한 방울씩 한 방울씩 외이도 속에 떨어뜨린다.
귀 점적 약제를 넣은 후 그 쪽 귓구멍을 위쪽으로 향하게 하고 2∼5분 동안 가만히 누워 있게 한다.
대부분의 어린이들은 귓구멍 속에 귀 점적 약제나 다른 어떤 종류의 약제를 외이도 속에 넣는 치료를 아주 싫어하고 심지어는 아무 것도 넣지 못하도록 가진 수단을 다 쓸 수 있다.
강제로 외이도 속에 약물 등을 넣는 중 귀 손상을 입힐 수 있으므로 주의해야 한다.
어떤 때는 귀 점적 약제로 외이도가 자극받아 아플 수 있다.
그래서 귀 점적 약제를 더 이상 넣지 못하게 하거나 심히 울 수 있다.
양쪽 외이도 속에 귀 점적 약을 넣어야 할 때는 한쪽 외이도 속에 귀 점적 약을 넣은 후 적어도 5∼10분간 기다렸다 다른 쪽 외이도 속에 귀 점적 약제를 넣는다.

How to put ear drop in external ear canal

• To treat acute otitis externa, external auditory canal rash, external auditory canal eczema, chronic otitis media with pus in the middle ear cavity, antibiotic ear drops (drop drops) can be put into the external auditory canal or middle ear cavity.

• Before removing the hardened earwax in the ear canal, you can first soften or melt the earwax in the ear canal, so you can put an ear drop from Cerumenex into the ear canal. See Earwax.

• When removing earwax from a child of an age who can understand speech, or when you need to put ear drops into the ear canal for other reasons, the reasons for putting the ear drops before the ear drops and what can happen when you put them in – for example, cold or It should be briefly explained that it is hot or that your ears may be a little numb or stuffy for a while or you may not be able to hear well for a while.

• Then, on the lap or on the bed, turn the child’s head to one side with the ear where the ear drops will be placed face up (see photo).

• Drop the ear drops one drop at a time into the ear canal as prescribed.

• After inserting the ear drops, place the ear canal facing upwards and lie still for 2 to 5 minutes.

• Most children dislike the treatment of putting ear drops or any other medication into the ear canal, and they can even do everything they can to prevent them from getting anything into the ear canal.

• Be careful as it may cause ear damage while forcibly inserting drugs into the ear canal.

• Occasionally, ear drops may irritate the ear canal and cause pain.

• So I can’t take any more ear drops or I can cry badly.

• When it is necessary to insert the ear drop the medication into both ear canals, place the ear drop the medication into one ear canal and wait for at least 5 to 10 minutes before inserting the ear drop the medication into the other ear canal.
